# HashBL

> > > > > This plugin was introduced in Spamassassin 3.4.2.

This plugin supports queries against hashed and unhashed DNS blocklists, such as the [msbl.org](http://msbl.org) Email Blocklist (EBL). The EBL contains email addresses used to receive responses to spam emails, which are sometimes called contact email addresses or drop boxes.

## How it works

It searches the email addresses found in the message - from the From: headers, the Reply-To header, and the message body - against the EBL using RHSBL-style lookups, and fires the `HASHBL_EMAIL` rule when one of them is listed.

## Rules

| Area | Rule name | Description | Default scores |
|---|---|---|---|
| header | `HASHBL_EMAIL` | Message contains email address found on EBL | 5.0 |

## Settings

This plugin has no additional settings. It can be enabled or disabled under `Warden -> Settings -> Plugin Settings -> HashBL`.
