# Switching from Courier to Dovecot

## Why Switch from Courier to Dovecot?

Plesk recommends using Dovecot: "Dovecot is faster, more secure, and it consumes fewer server resources and provides support for server-side mail filtering rules".

## Switch the IMAP server from Courier to Dovecot

To switch the from courier to dovecot, use the following command:

plesk installer --select-release-current --install-component dovecot
```
