# application:geolocation

Configure the MaxMind geolocation database settings.

```
sentinel --task=application:geolocation
```

| Option | Value | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `--license_key` | <string> |  | The free license key that was generated from Maxmind. |
| `--db_update_interval` | <digit> | 30 | The geolocation database update interval in days. |
| `--internal_cache` | <1\|0> | 1 | Enable an internal cache for geolocation database lookups. |
| `--default` | <yes> |  | Reset all settings to their default values. |
| `--default_option` | <option> |  | Reset a specific setting to its default value. |
| `--download_city` | <yes> |  | Download the GeoIP2 city database. |
| `--force` | <yes> |  | Force download of the GeoIP2 database even if it already exists. |

## Examples

```
// set the MaxMind license key
sentinel --task=application:geolocation --license_key=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

// force download the GeoIP2 city database even if it exists
sentinel --task=application:geolocation --download_city=yes --force=yes

// set the license key and immediately re-download the GeoIP2 city database
sentinel --task=application:geolocation --license_key=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX --download_city=yes --force=yes
```
